威廉玛丽学院简介
威廉玛丽学院College of William and Mary于1693年由英国国王威廉三世和女王玛丽二世创立，是英国在美国殖民地创立的第二所大学。1776年，该校与英国脱离关系，1906年成为美国公立大学，1918年男女合校，直到1967年才成为现代综合性大学。学校的硬件和软件环境都是超一流，目前已经位列美国名校。
威廉玛丽学院College of William and Mary近年来在美国大学排名30左右，在公立大学中仅在弗吉尼亚大学、伯克利加州大学，密歇根大学、洛杉矶加州大学，教堂山北卡大学之后，连续三年被《美国新闻与世界报道》评为最好的小型公立大学。名列8所公立美国常春藤大学之一的威廉与玛丽学院以低廉的学费提供常春藤学校的教育。威廉与玛丽学院一直是注重本科教学的文理学院，被评为公立大学中最注重教学的学校。学校研究生教育起步较晚，1967年才获大学地位，但各专业的排名呈上升趋势。
